Common Central Florida Fencing Questions answered

If you are shopping for a fence in Orange, Osceola, Lake, or Polk county, you probably have some questions. For instance, what rules apply to the fence around my property? What type of fence should I get around my swimming pool? Do I need to check with my HOA to install a fence?

Here are some answers to questions we frequently receive at Fence Central.

How Tall Can My Fence Be?

Typically, your HOA or municipality will dictate how tall your fence can be. Most HOA’s in Florida state your fence must be below a predetermined hight. Typically, it can be higher if you have a swimming pool.

Others HOA’s don’t have a hight restriction for the fence installed in the back or side yards, but there is one for the front yard. It is important to follow the rules of your HOA so you don’t get fined.

What type of fence should I put around my swimming pool?

When looking for a fence to put around your pool, there are certain fences that meet the pool code requirements, while others do not. These requirements are put in place to keep people and wildlife safe.

While some HOAs have rules about what type of fence, the height and materials, can be put around a pool, check with them just in case.
