Vinyl Fencing

Are you looking for a fence for your Central Florida home or business? One that will last a long time and look good? It is all about the material you choose and quality of installation. Your fence is constantly being exposed to the elements outdoors, the intense rain, heat, high winds, and insects. That’s why Fence Central offers durable fencing options to fit any home or business needs and style.

Vinyl Fencing

Aluminum Fencing

Vinyl fencing has become a very popular option in recent years, especially for HOAs, and with good reason. Vinyl can stand up to the harshest weather conditions and come in a variety of colors and styles.

They have the advantage of needing very little maintenance. As well as being, warp and crack resistant. They don't need to be painted or stained, no wonder why they are gaining in popularity. Though they tend to cost a little more than wood, they add significant value to any home.

Vinyl provides the same security and privacy as wood, as well as absorbing sound. Allowing you to enjoy your backyard.

Aluminum Fencing

Aluminum fences have the unique structure that enables them to flex more than traditional fences. This is really helpful for properties with slopes and irregular shapes.

They are also known for needing minimal maintenance and being very durable. In fact, they never have to be cleaned, stained, or painted.

Aluminum fences are a beautiful way to define boundary lines around your property. This type of fence is especially appreciative  if your home backs up to a lake or a nature preserve. They are also perfect for protecting gardens, while still enjoying all your hard work.

Securing your property while being able to enjoy the view. A must have if you own a swimming pool. The open design is sturdy enough to keep children and pets outside the enclosed area, while still taking advantage of the calming effect of the water.

Aluminum fences are also a great choice for enclosing a driveway. Tough enough to endure years of wear and tear, while adding a regal look to your home. The addition of a gate is a great way to add security.

They are also a great option for businesses and commercial properties that want to steer guests and visitors from walking into certain areas without being intrusive

We know that you have many choices when it comes to fencing contractors.

At Fence Central, we believe that our quality, professionalism, and experience speak for itself. Check back with us next week in what to look for in a reputable fence company.

Weather and Storms Affect Your Fence

How Florida's Weather Tests Different Types of Outdoor Enclosures

Florida's weather is never gentle on outdoor enclosures or buildings. Homeowners across Hillsborough County find their fences tested every month, and the wind, humidity, and rain will always expose weak points. Whether you've got a metal, wood, or a hurricane-resistant vinyl fence, you're going to see certain fairly predictable results from constant exposure to our weather. How Hillsborough County Weather Affects Your Fence Central Florida is in a humid, subtropical climate, which means heat, sunlight, and humidity. We also get nearly 50 inches of water a year, and nearly half of it between June and September. That means your fence spends the warm season wet at the base and periodically loaded by wind. Wood Wood boards absorb water when the air is heavy and release it as things dry out, and this process repeats until you start to see checks open along the grain. Then the rot starts. Rot fungi need moisture and warmth: a Florida summer supplies both in spades. Pressure-treated pine resists insects better than untreated wood and other types, but it still softens at the end grain once the stain wears away. Ultraviolet radiation compounds the problems that the moisture caused. The same wavelengths that can burn your skin in under half an hour also break down the lignin in the wood, which is the process that turns unfinished boards gray, chalks paint, and makes any unstabilized polymers get brittle at the corners. Once wind speeds climb in a storm, a solid wood privacy panel starts to behave like a sail and transfers that load into the posts and rails. An open picket or mesh face sheds the pressure better because air passes through instead of stacking against a wall. A solid fence is going to start to fail earlier when it gets hit by enough wind enough times. Aluminum and Metal Aluminum stands up to corrosion better than ordinary steel because it forms an oxide film that slows further attack, and a powder-coated finish blocks any salt aerosols that drift inland from the Gulf. Chain link lets the wind pass and thus tends to stay standing in storms, but the coating wears off at cuts and gate hardware over time, especially with constant rain and UV exposure. Eventually, that means you'll see rust. Vinyl Rigid vinyl isn't susceptible to rot and rust because it does not absorb water or feed termites. The lines built for this market in particular also carry UV inhibitors meant to slow the chalking that develops with sun exposure. At Fence Central, we've installed residential and commercial fencing across Central Florida since 2009, and we especially love American-made vinyl for privacy, semi-privacy, picket, pool, and decorative style fences. The fences we offer also come with a lifetime manufacturer warranty against cracking, peeling, and color fading under the Florida sun. Call Us for Wood, Metal, or Hurricane-Resistant Vinyl Fence Installation Florida's mix of humidity, sun, and storm wind will keep testing whatever stands in your yard. The Benefits of Working with Experienced Local Installers for Your Property

If you want vinyl fencing that can handle our sometimes rough Florida weather, hire experienced local installers who already know Polk County soil, the local codes, our weather challenges, and the situation in our neighborhoods. What Experienced Polk County Installers Bring to Vinyl Fencing and Other Projects Knowing the Soil The person who sets the posts on any fence should know how this specific ground behaves in a summer downpour or a late-season storm. Central Florida soils can be anything from loose sand to heavier pockets just within a few miles, and a crew that works here week after week knows by instinct where a hole will slough and where a post needs extra concrete. A traveling installer working from a generic spec sheet does not have that experience and local insight. Knowing the Rules The Florida Building Code sets some structural expectations, including wind design, but the height limits, front-yard setbacks, sight triangles at corners, and whether you even need a construction permit are decided by each municipality. Lakeland, Winter Haven, and the county building division each have their own regulations, and an installer who files those permit applications regularly will be able to tell you what you need and what the limitations are before you buy. Knowing the Utilities The most common amateur mistake in fencing is digging before anyone has marked the buried utility lines. Florida law requires you to notify Sunshine 811 at least two full business days before any excavation. A local company will know the schedule and can arrange for everything in advance, so you are not standing in the yard with posts while the utility markings are still missing. Knowing the Properties Experienced estimators measure on site, compare the proposed line to the survey, and can then flag any easement before the work gets started and time or money is wasted. That step sounds unimportant; that is, until you have to cut a finished fence run because a utility company has a recorded right to access the strip you just enclosed. Knowing the Weather Florida's sun and weather are not minor details. Florida's UV exposure values are well above the national average for much of the year, often reaching the very high and extreme ranges in late spring and summer. That is the light that yellows thin, unstabilized PVC and makes it brittle. And while the Florida Building Code allows fences not exceeding six feet to be designed for specified wind speeds, a design number on paper is not the same as a post set to depth in wet sand after a week of rain. Local installers know how to adjust the hole diameter, embedment, and concrete volume to the actual soil they find, where to add extra reinforcement to keep a wide opening from acting like a sail, and how to protect your investment from the weather.
