Bringing Christmas Cheer to your Fence

All of us here at Fence Central in Winter Haven hope you had a wonderful and filling Thanksgiving dinner. December and the Christmas season are right around the corner and that means starting to think about decorations and bringing holiday cheer to your home. There are many ways to decorate your home for the Christmas season. Many people like to decorate a Christmas tree, hang lights from the roof, and hang a wreath on the door. Did you ever think about decorating your fence? If your fence is in the front yard, it's one of the first things friends and family see when they come to visit your home. If your fence is in the back yard, adding decorations there can help to extend the holiday scene as a part of your entire living space.Ranch rail, aluminum, and picket fences, in particular, make perfect spots for a little extra holiday charm, but you can get creative and add decorations to any fence your house currently has.For fences with larger posts, such as ranch rail and picket, drape green or pinecone garland between the fence posts, leaving enough slack to let it hang down and create a scalloped edge along the fence. Tie large velvet ribbons at the fence posts to finish the effect. To make the garland unique, you can also hang plastic ornaments or stars along the garland. For aluminum fences or other fences with a flat top, you can lay a think layer of garland along the top of the fence and decorate intermittently with pine cones, bows, ornaments, red berries, and ribbons. We'd love to see how you're decorating your fence for the holiday season! Drop by our office in Winter Haven or give us a call.

Autumn Decorations for Fences

We offer fences made from several beautiful and functional materials including vinyl, wood, aluminum, and chain link, in a variety of styles and colors. Leaf garland What you'll need: Thin branches with colorful leaves still attached Floral wire Floral tape Scissors Wire cutters Any decorative accents you like, such as pine cones, dried berries, and dried orange slices Instructions: Measure your fence to the length that you want the garland to be. If you wan the garland to scallop along the fence, consider draping a piece of string in the shape and length you want and then measuring the string Connect the thin branches together by overlapping the branches by around 2" and wrapping them securely with the floral wire Continue connecting the branches until it reaches your desired length If you want a centerpiece, secure a larger stick to the garland using floral tape and decorate with larger pine cones, berries, and whatever else looks nice to you If you don't want a centerpiece, hang small pinecones, berries, and dried orange slices throughout the garland using floral wire or tape, whichever suits better Maize corn cob garland Maize, also known as Indian Corn or Flint Corn, is colorful corn that can be dried on the cob and used for decorations. What you'll need: Eye hooks Maize on the cob Maize husks Sturdy twine Glue Instructions: Measure your fence to the length that you want the garland to be Twist the eye hooks into the bottom, flat end of the maize Alternate the maize and husks along the twine. To secure the husks, drape the husk over the twine and then glue the two ends together

Here are some ideas from your friends at Fence Central. Wishing you and your loved ones a happy and safe Independence Day! Picket fence bunting Pin red fabric to one side of the fence with thumb tacks, then weave it through the pickets to create a festive look in no time at all.
